Matt Cook joined the TEAL Sales team in July 2025 and currently serves as the Director of Growth, focused on identifying new markets and opportunities for the company. He acts as the primary point of contact for new projects and plays a key role in bridging the gap between operations and business development – particularly for TEAL’s managed chilled water system – while simultaneously growing the company’s student housing portfolio.
Prior to joining TEAL, Matt was an entrepreneur for eight years, owning and operating his own service business in the facilities maintenance industry. After successfully selling the company in 2023, he became the founding Account Executive for a construction technology startup, where he was responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding the company’s client base. In that role, he further strengthened his expertise in the sales cycle and client relationship management. Shortly after, he started his career journey at TEAL.
Matt is known for his high-energy approach and unwavering commitment to client success, always going above and beyond to deliver results. He is an active member of the BUILT National industry organization – participating in the North Texas, Florida, and Houston chapters – and frequently attends BUILT events nationwide to stay connected with industry trends and peers.
He is passionate about helping companies grow, building lasting relationships, and delivering innovative solutions that create value for TEAL’s clients. Beyond his work with clients, he also values being a part of a collaborative, forward-thinking culture and the camaraderie amongst his colleagues (including the office fantasy football chat).
Outside of work, Matt is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, fishing, and watching football on the weekends. He was born in Austin, Texas, but raised in the U.S. Virgin Islands before attending Rhodes College, where he was a collegiate football player. After college, he moved to Dallas, which he now proudly calls home. In his spare time, he is an active member of Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas and enjoys the continued chase of a better golf game.
